Dependencies for your Trello project

You've set up a Gantt chart of your Trello board using Ganttify and created a couple of due dates and time blocks for your board's tasks and Trello cards.

Now, you want to ensure that when a task in the first list of your Trello board gets delayed, the start date of another Trello card gets pushed back as well. Managing all these dependencies between tasks can quickly become a tedious job. And even when your memory has mastered them all, that won't guarantee that a team member will keep it up.

In Ganttify, you can set dependencies between time blocks and due dates to ensure everything automatically stays on track. Here's a short demo video about how this feature works:

Add dependencies to your Trello board

When you open up a Gantt chart, you see the ' due dates' and 'time blocks' of your Gantt. Each row represents a task from a checklist on a Trello card or a Trello card. With the new dependencies feature, you can right-click each item and choose 'Add dependency' from the context menu.

Once you set up your dependencies, you can easily update your project schedule. If a task gets delayed, the dependent tasks will automatically reschedule, all the new dates will directly be synchronized to your Trello board, and everyone will stay up to date.

Removing dependencies from Trello tasks and cards

You can easily do that if you need to remove a dependency. All you have to do, like most things in Ganttify, is use the right-mouse click. Right-click on the dependency line you wish to remove and left-click on " Remove dependency" from the context menu.

Now, you have learned the basics of creating and removing dependencies.

Viewing dependencies in Trello

Since creating and editing dependencies is a feature Ganttify offers as a part of the Gantt charts created for your Trello boards, the dependencies can not be seen directly in the Trello board. We recommend you install the Gantt chart for Trello browser extension to have Ganttify at hand in each of your Trello boards.
